Honda Accord & Insight Uncomfortable Seats

Most uncomfortable seats ever? Honda owners think so

Many Honda owners have reported that their 2008-2012 Accords and Insights have the most uncomfortable seats of any car they've ever owned. Some may ask if this is a big problem, but they're not the same people who are forced to commute on these awkwardly shaped cement blocks. Bottom line, considering a car is one of the biggest purchases consumers ever make, it must be terribly frustrating to later find out that you hate driving it.

How Bad Can a Seat Be?

Love your Honda Accord or Insight overall but just can't stand the seats? Take comfort in knowing you're not alone (pun intended). For some people the headrests push too far forward, causing neck pain over long distances. Other owners report the seats are too long, driving into the back of your thighs and causing all sorts of hip problems. Many other still report the lower lumbar support are more like concrete blocks and can cause pain even when taking a quick trip across town.

If you're in the market for a midsize sedan, you're definitely going to want to take the Accord for a long test drive. You could compare the Accord against the Camry. Or take a look at the recently redesigned Ford Fusion and the Hyundai Sonata, both of which are extremely stylish and offer drivers larger interiors.

Actions You Can Take & Possible Recourse

What Owner's Are Saying

After a week of unrelenting agony from the uncomfortable driver's seat, I sold the car back to the dealer at a big loss. I tried the 2010 seat but it was the same problem - a combination of unbelievably bad seat shape, hardness, and that pressure plate in the back that is hooked up to the active head restraints. Try a simple test at home. Put yourself in the most uncomfortable, awkward position and hold it for one hour. If your back feels fine, then you will enjoy the Accord.

I seriously can't believe I put myself in this position. I have been complaining of lower back and hip pain for the last few weeks. I soon realized the seat is digging into the back of my thigh causing pain in my hip. NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO THE SEATING WILL NOT BE COMFORTABLE.If I lean back the front is to high, leaning forward you dip too much.

The seats in my 2010 Accord are HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD. They are incredibly uncomfortable and I am ANGRY. The stupid lumbar rams me in the lower back, the headrest pushes the back of my head, and where my butt sits feels like concrete.
